A generalized Zel’dovich–Neumann–Döring model of steady gaseous detonation
V. M. Gendugov Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics
Abstract:
A model of $N$-component gas mixture detonation satisfying the kinetic formulation of the mass action law with $n$ ($1\le n\le N-1$) independent reactions is studied. In the framework of this model, it is found that there exist two possible types of self-sustaining detonation waves with asymptotically stable combustion zones. It is shown that it is possible to observe only a strong wave propagating in the Chapman–Jouguet regime relative to the flow on the critical surface. It is also shown that, for a perfect gas mixture, this wave appears only when a combustion zone is formed by one or two reactions.
