Finite-memory digital filters to estimate laser gyroscope drifts

Abstract:
A digital finite impulse response filter is described for estimating the low frequency laser gyro output signal. In practice, such components are called the drift and its variation is called the drift instability. A feature of the proposed algorithm is a stronger damping of high-frequency components compared to common filters based on the calculation of arithmetic mean. A comparative analysis of the frequency properties of these filters is discussed.
