Propagation of plane waves of two-component strain state in a nonlinear compressible medium

È. V. Lenskii
Abstract: Properties of plane combined discontinuity at plane strain state are investigated. Riemann waves are analysed in a self-similar motion. In the case where the states before and behind the discontinuity are in the same quadrant of the strain plane it is proved that the discontinuity of an arbitrary magnitude is evolutionary. The evolutional part of the shock curve is exposed for several quadrants of strain plane. For the halfspace the weak solutions are obtained under arbitrary boundary conditions.
