Representations of Lie algebras in positive characteristic

We announce some results on irreducible representations of finite dimensional restricted Lie algebras over algebraically closed fields. We prove that every irreducible representation of a restricted Lie algebra can be built using irreducible representations of some solvable Lie algebras and of central extensions of simple Lie algebras. We give some applications of this result.
