Electric mechanisms of vorticity amplification in the funnel of a tornado

Abstract:
The influence of a tripole thundercloud charge and an atmospheric electric field perturbation under the cloud on the flow vorticity in the forming tornado funnel is considered. The strong vorticity localization in the funnel at small spatial scales is theoretically substantiated.
