Abstract:
Elastic moduli of composite material based on high-temperature modified phenolic resins filled with short carbon fibers are estimated. Comparison of several closed-form formulas used to determine the effective moduli of such composites is the aim of the paper. Results of experimental verification are also given.
Key words:
carbon fibers, short fibers, phenolic resin, effective moduli, Eshelby tensor.
