Numerical study on injection of a viscous incompressible gas into a plane channel on the basis of the Navier–Stokes equations

S. B. Berezin, V. M. Paskonov

Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics
Abstract: Flow of a viscous incompressible gas is studied in a plane channel and in the aerodynamic wake behind it. This study is based on numerical solution of Navier–Stokes equations in $(u,v,T)$ variables and on graphical analysis of results obtained. Formulation of the problem is given and a numerical method for its solution is described. Various flow structures are revealed depending on base parameters. The phenomenon of channel blocking (“locking”) is explored in detail.
Keywords: Navier–Stokes equations, flow of a viscous incompressible gas, numerical simulation, aeromechanics, fluid mechanics.
