A Galerkin approximation for the problem of unsteady motion of a viscous weakly compressible gas

K. A. Zhukov

Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics
Abstract: A Galerkin approximation is constructed for the linear system of equations describing the unsteady motion of a viscous weakly compressible gas in the case of two spatial variables. An error estimate is proved depending on the gas viscosity and the parameter characterizing the gas compressibility.
Keywords: viscous weakly compressible gas, finite element method, Galerkin method, unsteady gas motion.
