Abstract: Several simple explicit methods with low computing cost are proposed to integrate the stiff systems of ordinary differential equations. Single-step methods of order 1, 2 and 3 with step size control are considered. The efficiency of the proposed methods is illustrated on test problems.
Keywords: ordinary differential equations, stiff Cauchy problem, explicit methods, single-step methods, adaptive methods.
