Abstract: The article identifies a research problem related to the development of a prototype robot manipulator with a sorting function intended for use as educational equipment in the preparation of students at the Vitus Bering Kamchatka State University. The article says that industrial robots are one of the components of automated production systems that allow increasing labor productivity in the manufacturing sector of the country. The article states the fact that industrial robots should become the foundation of the new economy of our country, and to solve this problem, new personnel are needed, which should be trained by the country's universities. In addition, the article discusses the idea of using a robot manipulator in the classroom for the study of the discipline “Fundamentals of Robotics included in the training profile "Applied Computer Science in automation and robotics”at the Vitus Bering Kamchatka State University. The author of the article shares his experience in developing a prototype robot manipulator, which has the function of sorting objects. The article lists the components of the developed prototype and describes the order of their installation. The algorithm of sorting objects by this robot manipulator is given and the process of developing software for its control is briefly described. It is indicated that the creation of the program consisted in first determining the positions of the robotic arm using the LeArm program, and then in organizing the execution of a sequence of these positions programmatically using the Arduino IDE programming system. The article indicates a promising field of application of sorting robots.
