Impact oscillator as a dynamic method for studying the elastic properties of metals and alloys

Abstract: In this work, using an impact oscillator, the study of the metals and alloys elastic properties was carried out. For 5 different metal plates, experimental oscillograms of acoustic signals arising from impacts of the oscillator on the sample's surface were obtained. The dependences of the acoustic signals amplitude on the excitatory signals amplitude are constructed. The calibration coefficient of the experimental stand was determined by the method of linear regression. Further, the Young's modulus and the transverse speed of sound are determined for the all samples.
