Abstract:
The all-optical switching system is considered. It does not transform the optical information signal into an electrical signal and vice versa. The algorithm of operation of the optical switching system in which the selection of the desired output takes place without the involvement of an external electronic control device is designed. The algorithm reduces the switching time and does not require an electronic control unit. The process of searching available communication channels is parallel. The three-stage scheme of connection and parallel algorithm processing is used. Due to the fact that the search takes place within the switching system and a parallel search of communication channels the algorithm helps reduce the switching time. The switching system is constructed on the basis of active optical switching cells, which are set by comparing the optical wavelengths according to the developed algorithm. The functional schemes of optical cell input, intermediate and output stages are offered. They differ from the known ones in presence of the configuration element in addition to the switching element.
