INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES IN EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY
The problem of assessment of the results of training of IT-professionals
V. V. Laptev, P. V. Laptev Astrakhan State Technical University
Abstract:
The implementation of the competence approach in the Russian higher education is not lack of shortcomings and requires a number of researches in different directions. There is a contradiction between the objective-oriented learning and competence-oriented results of training. Among the researchers there is no common understanding of the concepts of "competence" and "competency", there is no consensus on the structure of competence, there is no universally accepted classification of the competencies. The analysis of the set of the competencies specified in the standards of higher education indicates that general cultural competences are not common (universal) listed in the project TUNING. Many competencies are dependent on each other, and performance of the professional tasks listed in the standards depends not only on the professional competences, but also on the general cultural ones. The development of the models of formation of the competences in accordance with their mutual influence is required. The paper presents the author’s definition of the concepts “competence” and “competency” and it turns out that it is required to assess the student's level of competency. Manifestations of the competency are strongly dependent on the personal qualities, therefore, the structure of the competency consisting of 4 components: knowledge-experience, skills-experience, personal qualities, motivation is determined. Among the set of the personal qualities the professionally important qualities are decisive for the success of the professional activity. The method for detection of the professionally important qualities of the programmers is developed on the basis of psychological testing. The implementation the techniques requires significant automation while collecting statistical data and processing the results. For the evaluation of the specific personal characteristics fuzzy assessment models are developed. An example of the fuzzy assessment model for the method of conflict assessment (K. Tomas' technique) is given. Solving the problem of assessment using competence approach will automate the process of training of software developers.
