Analysis of peculiarities of diesel damper control on the basis of special fluid model testing

Abstract:
The authors conducted comparative testing of torsional vibration dampers on a test bed with two kinds of fluid — polymethylsiloxane fluid (PMF) and magnetic fluid (MF). The test bed and tests conducted on torsional vibration were calculated and the boundaries for the research of reso-nance frequency were marked. For the research, the fluids PMF-1000 and MF-131 with kinematic viscosities of 1000 and 1100 cSt correspondingly were used. Data for reduction of resonance stress of torsional vibrations for both fluids were obtained. Using PMF-1000 resulted in the reduction of stress by 2.68 and 2.67 for MF-131. The behavior of both fluids is presented in graphs. Resonance frequency of vibrations for using PMF-1000 and MF-131 was 28.6 and 27.8 Hz correspondingly.
