Application of genetic algorithm to the decision of the problem "Arrangement of stations of mobile communication systems"

Abstract:
At designing a network of mobile communication systems the rational arrangement of Base Stations (BS) is one of the most basic problems. The methods of arrangement influence both quality of communication and financial expenses for network expansion (quantity of stations and a place of BS arrangement and maintenance service). The method of arrangement with the help of genetic algorithm (GA) is considered. The algorithm of search and basic GA functions is described. The signal power and financial expenses on arrangement and operation of the equipment are chosen as objective functions. The algorithm for calculation of minimum quantity of BS on the set area which covers the territory at the minimal economic expenses is described.
