Multimode photon echo quantum memory in the medium with longitudinal inhomogeneous broadening

Abstract:
We analyze various schemes of selective multimode photon echo quantum memory in the medium with “longitudinal” inhomogeneous broadening. Taking into account the atomic phase relaxation we estimate preferable experimental conditions for realization of multimode quantum memory with highest efficiency and fidelity. Realization of the photon echo quantum memory with high quantum efficiency and fidelity in a forward geometry of the light field propagation and the implementation of selective manipulations of the light field modes are discussed.
