Optical nutation in semiconductor heterostructures and dense gases

Abstract:
In the present work the nonstationary optical nutation signals in semiconductor heterostructures $A_3B_5$ and dense atomic gases are analyzed analytically and numerically taking into account local field effects such as excitation induced shift and excitation induced dephasing. In general case The signal dynamics is shown can be described in the frame of anharmonic oscillator model with cubic nonlinearity as well as nonlinear dissipation. The local field effects on the observed signal spectrum is analyzed.
