Abstract:
The macroscale equations describing coupled processes of density-driven flow and transport are thoroughly derived for the stable case (fresh water is above dense brine). Governing equations are Stokes equations and convection-diffusion mass transport equation, written at porescale. The main results are macroscale dependencies of dispersion and filtration coefficients on density gradient and filtration velocity.
