Abstract: In this article, we examine the problem of penetration of an acoustic wave formed by a sound source through a plate in a high-pressure chamber, and the problem of formation of an acoustic wave by the radiation of the plate in a low-pressure chamber. The problem under examination is connected with the mathematical modeling of experimental determination of the sound insulation properties of thin-walled structural elements by the method of adjacent reverberation chambers in acoustic testing laboratories meeting the requirements of GOST 26602.3-99. Based on a one-dimensional approximation of wave equations which comply with the plane reflection hypothesis, we make an assumption that the plate is nondeformable and has nonrigid supporting elements made of damping material on the contour. We investigate two problem statements which differ in the means of representation of the sound source in the high-pressure chamber. It is shown that both of the considered statements lead to practically identical results at determining the sound insulation properties of the plate. We prove the possibility of describing the sound absorbtion properties of the low-pressure chamber walls by the introduction of an additional deformable layer in the obstacle (the chamber wall) and taking into account the internal energy absorption within the Kelvin–Voigt model.
Keywords: absolutely rigid plate, deformable supporting elements, sound insulation, wave equation, flat reflection, obstacle, sound absorption, internal damping, Kelvin–Voigt model.
