Study of the temperature field distribution in an autoclave

Abstract: The paper discusses a study devoted to the study of the influence of air temperature changes when used in experimental modeling. In the case of placing several parts, simultaneous processing using convective heating in an autoclave is possible. Due to uncertainties, including instrument placement, the convective boundary conditions change with each run. As a result, the temperature performance of some parts may not match the process specifications due to insufficient curing or heating. Thermochemical analysis using finite element modeling is usually performed before production based on the expected range. To control the temperature during the heating process, thermocouples are placed under or on parts near critical locations. The data can be used for backward calculation using trial and error analysis. However, since the inverse heat transfer problem is ill-posed, the solution turns out to be non-unique. Recommendations are proposed for improving the process of manufacturing large-sized frame molds and tooling and autoclaving in terms of heating rate and temperature uniformity.
