Details of the motion of charged nonrelativistic particles in a variable field

B. M. Bolotovskii, A. V. Serov

P. N. Lebedev Physical Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow
Abstract: It is showh that a particle in an alternating field of force does not in the general case oscillate around its initial position but undergoes a systematic drift. The velocity of the drift depends on the initial conditions.
