The Konstantinov effect and sound absorption in inhomogeneous media

Abstract: Theoretical and experimental aspects of sound absorption at the boundary between two media with different acoustic properties (the Konstantinov effect) are reviewed. Possible applications of the Konstantinov effect in architectural and technical acoustics are discussed.
