Undulators and wigglers for the production of radiation and other applications

Abstract:
We describe periodic magnetic systems known as undulators and wigglers that are used in circular accelerators and free-electron lasers both to generate radiation and to control the beam parameters. The design details and radiation characteristics of such systems are discussed together with their influence on electron motion.
