Abstract:
The history of the creation of conducting polymers is reviewed and their properties are considered. Some special charge-transport features of phthalide-containing polymers—the injection mechanism, high conductivity, and the dependence on boundary conditions—are described. Conditions for a polymer film transition to highly conducting and superconducting states are examined. Prospects for the application of wide-band polymer materials in electronic devices are discussed.
