130th ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF P.L. KAPITZA. CONFEENCES AND SYMPOSIA
On the 130th anniversary of the birth of Pyotr Leonidovich Kapitza (Joint meeting (Scientific Session) of the Physical Sciences Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and the Scientific Council of the P L Kapitza Institute for Physical Problems (IPP) RAS (IPP, July 10, 2024)
Abstract:
On July 10, 2024, a joint meeting of the Scientific Council of the P.L. Kapitza Institute for Physical Problems (IPP) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) was held in the conference hall of IPP RAS, combined with a Scientific Session of the Physical Sciences Division of the RAS, dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of Pyotr Leonidovich Kapitza, the founder of the IPP RAS.
The agenda of the scientific session of the meeting included the following reports and speeches:
1. Yudin A N (IPP RAS, Moscow) "Detection of new phases of superfluid 3He using a vibrating wire";
2. Khrapai V S (Institute of Solid State Physics (ISSP) RAS, Chernogolovka, Moscow Region) “Quasiparticles in an Andreev wire”;
3. Glazkov V N (IPP RAS, Moscow) “Magnetic resonance of low-temperature paramagnets”;
4. Turlapov A V (Institute of Applied Physics RAS, Nizhny Novgorod) “Kapitza–Dirac diffraction for atoms”;
5. Tikhonov A M (IPP RAS, Moscow) “On application development at IPP.”
Articles written on the basis of presented reports 1, 3, and 4 are published below in this issue of Physics–Uspekhi (see [1–3]). A special issue of the Zh. Eksp. Teor. Fiz. 166 1–148 (2024) [for English version see Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Physics (JETP, Vol. 139, Issue 1, July 2024) is also dedicated to the anniversary of P.L. Kapitza's birth (see [4–16]).
At the meeting, A M Troyanovskiy showed selected film and photo records, as well as archives.
