Abstract: We apply widely used methods of switching control to manage the process of selecting tariff plans of cellular communication.Of two parties involved, that of a service provider and a subscriber, only the problem of a subscriber is considered. We propose a formal problem statement and describe necessary model parameters to minimize forecasted full cost of switching to the new tariff plan. We give an example to illustrate the method details and perform solution sensitivity analysis with respect to proportional increase in traffic volume for fixed traffic structure. We also calculate the effect of optimal tariff plans switching control
Keywords: switching control, tariff plan, the traffic, the optimal solution, the payment function, selection criterion.
