Diagnostics techniques for multilayer antifriction coating on rail side head

Abstract:
At the present moment a new system of lubrication is being tested: a side head of a rail is coated with a multilayer antifriction nanomodified film obeying property of blocking undesired segregation phenomena. We investigate techniques of condition monitoring for such coating. The method is suggested for catastrophic destruction danger diagnostics based on assessment of flow rate and detection of a large number of discrete frequencies in a spectrum of acoustic emission.
