Abstract: We propose using the algorithms of traction and brake mechanisms control to achieve the desired quality of heavy freight trains speed control and to improve traffic safety. These algorithms must account for the specific character of freight train as a distributed mechanical system.
Keywords: mathematical model, automatic driving system, automatic speed control system, discrete model of a train, a train as system of solid bodies, railways traffic safety.
