Specificity of the Earth surface monitoring via geostationary geosynchronous Earth orbit Satellite Radar

Abstract: A problem is considered of design the spacecraft surveillance radar with the reflector antenna, ensuring high-accuracy and high resolution ground location of the prescribed Earth area. Peculiarities of Earth monitoring via the radar with phase-shift keyed signal are studied. For a multi-beam radar of the geostationary/geosynchronous Earth orbit satellite the algorithm of switching the partial directional paths is proposed, providing the uniform precip of the area of interest with the highest possible density of the probing beams for the minimal time under conditions of uniform satellite rotation about the centroidal axis and the constant probing frequency. The numerical example is presented showing effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
