Abstract: The enthalpy of erbium monosilicide and disilicide is measured for the first time by the method of mixtures in a wide temperature range. Experimental data are used to obtain the temperature dependences of heat capacity, entropy, and reduced Gibbs energy of the compounds. The enthalpies and entropies of polymorphous transformation and melting of the investigated compounds are determined.
