Solvent evaporation from a droplet moving in a hot gas

D. I. Lamden, I. L. Mostinskii

Institute for High Temperatures, USSR Academy of Sciences, Moscow
Abstract: Solvent evaporation is considered for a drop of solution in a flow of hot gas; several models for the solvent evaporation are considered, the exact model being determined by the form of the dry residue: monolithic particles, porous particles of variable or constant porosity, and hollow particles. Analytical solutions are derived, which incorporate the interactions between the change in size and the particle speed during drying.
