Phase transitions and fluctuations in classical statistical mechanics

Abstract: It is shown that allowance for fluctuations leads to the appearance of additional terms in the Hamiltonian of the system and in the thermodynamic parameters of the substance. As a result, it becomes possible to describe the critical phenomena and phase transitions of liquid–vapor within classical statistical mechanics (without taking into account fluctuations, this is impossible).
