Specific heat of tungsten at high temperatures
O. Sh. Zinoviev, S. V. Lebedev Institute for High Temperatures, USSR Academy of Sciences, Moscow
Abstract:
The specific heat of tungsten in the temperature range $2300$–$3600$ degree K was measured from the cooling of a tungsten wire in vacuum. Jones and Langmuir's tables, which connect the current flowing through the wire in steady-state conditions with its temperature and radiated power, were used. Cooling of the wire after pulse heating was also investigated. The results are compared with published data.
