Abstract: We investigated experimentally the interaction of pressure waves with a vapor film during film boiling of subcooled water on the surface of solid spheres. We observed a change in the interphase surface image under the impact by those waves. We noted the similarity of the observed phenomena with those registered under the absence of any external influence on the process.
