Symmetry and asymmetry in a layer of compressible gas

Abstract: Numerical investigation is performed of the effects arising in a layer of compressible gas upon emergence of thermoacoustic waves. The contribution made by the compressibility effects to the process of heat transfer is studied. A one-dimensional case is considered; the heat capacity, the thermal conductivity, and the viscosity are assumed to be constant.
