Experimental determination of the ratio of the polarized components of radiation flux of metals at high temperatures

Abstract:
A method is described for determining the polarization ratio beta which is based on the phenomenon of partial polarization of self-radiation of a flat metal surface and the absence of polarization of blackbody radiation. The fluxes from the sample surface and from a blackbody are modulated in order to increase the sensitivity and accuracy of the method.
