Abstract:
The quantitative relationship of pressure (activity $a$) of alkali metals $M$ and the work function $\phi$ of the effusion chamber inner surface, $\phi = \phi(M) - kT\ln{a}(M)$, is studied. The experimental data on the pressure values of ions proved that the equation can be applied in practice.
