Thermophysical Properties of Materials

Effect of macroscopic roughness on character of emission from surface

A. S. Nevskii, L. V. Ilchukova

Scientific-Research Institute of Metallurgical Heat Engineering
Abstract: Solutions are found for problems of radiation for roughnesses in form of spherical and cylindrical indentations and also for surface covered with triangular grooves; for surfaces in which geometrical similarity of relief is maintained, effect of roughness on distribution and intensity of emission is same; only difference lies in change in spacing of nonuniformities in field of radiation around emitting surface.
