Plasma Investigations

Study of high-pressure argon arc

V. A. Golubev, V. F. Klimkin

Moscow Aviation Institute, USSR
Abstract: Electrical and thermal properties of high pressure argon arc and optical properties of argon were determined for axial temperatures of $11 \times 10^3$ to $12 \times 10^3$ K and pressures of $10^5$ to $10^7$ N/m$^2$; measured integral intensity of radiation agreed satisfactorily with theoretical estimates.
