Plasma Investigations

Diagnosis of dense plasma by means of resonance scattering of gamma rays

I. F. Isaev, L. P. Kudrin

I. V. Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy
Abstract: Method is suggested for measuring temperature in optically opaque dense partially ionized plasma by means of nuclear resonance gamma fluorescence; measurement of temperature distribution, which is performed jointly with measurement of density and pressure, permits experimental study of equation of state of nonideal plasma.
