Turbulent chemically reacting boundary-layer of gaseous combustion products with added potassium
M. S. Benilov, B. V. Rogov, V. K. Shikov Institute for High Temperatures, USSR Academy of Sciences, Moscow
Abstract:
The chemical disequilibrium in a turbulent boundary layer of combustion products with added potassium at a plane plate in a longitudinal flow was numerically modeled for conditions in the boundary layers of large-scale magnetohydrodynamic equipment. The calculation results are presented and discussed. It was established that the concentration distribution of free potassium ions was nonequilibrium at distances of the order of a few millimeters from the wall. The concentration distribution of the oxygen-bearing components in the near-wall region may also be significantly nonequilibrium. The disequilibrium of the electron distribution was investigated together with the influence of negative ions in the mixture on the electron concentration.
