Turbulent momentum transfer in a bubble layer

Abstract:
Distributions of eddy viscosity and mixing length across a bubble tower are obtained by analyzing experimental profiles of velocity and true volumetric vapor content. It is shown that basically different laws govern the change in mixing length during bubbling and during the forced motion of a one-phase fluid. A relation is proposed to calculate the characteristics of turbulent momentum transfer in a bubble layer.
