Effect of the condensation coefficient on the rapid evaporation of superheated drops

Abstract:
This article examines the effect of the condensation coefficient a on the cooling of a superheated drop in the outer atmosphere and in a vacuum, with the cooling being accompanied by intensive vaporization. Expressions are obtained for the time dependence of the temperature and radius of an evaporating water drop with different values of $\alpha$. A method is proposed for determining the condensation coefficient. Use of this method makes it possible to find the value of the coefficient by measuring the time of cooling of a small drop of waterfront room temperature to the freezing point during evaporation in a vacuum.
