Heat and Mass Transfer and Physical Gasdynamics

Pseudo-cavitation during the boiling of a subcooled gasified liquid

B. M. Dorofeev

Stavropol State Pedagogical University
Abstract: A study is made of the physical mechanism responsible for the generation of a pressure pulse in the collapse of a vapor bubble when true cavitation cannot take place. An approximate formula is obtained to describe this phenomenon. The results of combined tests are presented and are shown to agree with the proposed theory.
