Heat and Mass Transfer and Physical Gasdynamics
Heat transfer in the supercritical region in a steam-generating channel with a mist flow
B. I. Nigmatulin, V. N. Kukharenko S. P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation "Energia"
Abstract:
The problem of heat transfer in the supercritical region is formulated and solved numerically for steady and unsteady conditions. Mist flow is described using a two-temperature model which accounts for the effect of phase slip on heat transfer between the vapor and the drops and direct thermal interaction between the drops and the heated surface. The theoretical results are compared with empirical data in the literature on the temperature of the heating surface. The comparison is made within a broad range of values of the system parameters: pressure $p = 0.3$–$18.5$ MPa; mass flow rate of the mixture $G = 30$–$5000$ kg/m$^2$sec; heat flux $q = 0.02$–$3$ MW/m$^2$; tube diameter $D = 4$–$20$ mm.
