Thermophysical Properties of Materials
Thermal conductivity of liquid and solid compounds $\mathrm{TlAsX}_2$ in the crystalline and glassy modifications
Sh. M. Ismailov Institute of Physics, Dagestan Branch of the USSR
Abstract:
Results are presented from an analysis of the temperature dependences of thermal conductivity and possible mechanisms of heat transfer in solid and liquid ternary compounds $\rm TlAsX_2\,(X - S, Se, Te)$ in the crystalline and glassy modifications within the temperature range $300$–$900$ K. It is established that the principal heat-transfer mechanism in both modifications of these compounds is the phonon mechanism. The photon, electron, and bipolar mechanisms of heat tranfer are also active. The same mechanisms active in the solid state are also active in the liquid state. It is shown that the character of the change in the thermal conductivity of glasses with the transition through the glass point is determined by the extent to which the bonding in the glass-forming network is covalent.
