Nonmonotonic stationary temperature fields in a plane translucent layer during heating by collimated radiation

Abstract:
Results are presented from a numerical study of nonmonotonic stationary temperature fields present during the collimated heating of a plane translucent layer within a broad range of optical thicknesses, with allowance for the effect of the angle of incidence on the layer, refraction, and heat conduction by the material of the layer. The results are compared with literature data.
