Photoionization and bremsstrahlung light absorption in high-density metal vapor

Abstract: A relationship between the anomalous increase in electrical conductivity and the abnormally heavy continuous light absorption in high-density metal vapor in the vicinity of the phase transition line is established. A modified Unsöld–Kramers equation accounting for the photoionization of bound atomic clusters by small quanta is derived. The photoionization and bremsstrahlung absorption values are estimated.
