Plasma Investigations
The possibility of measuring the distribution of the temperature and concentration of emitting atoms in nonuniform plasma objects
V. E. Banin Institute for High Temperatures, USSR Academy of Sciences
Abstract:
A modification of experimental schemes which are based on the use of a generalized method of inversion and a method of total absorption is described in application to the investigation of nonuniform plasma objects. The effectiveness of these schemes is demonstrated for the example of a laminar boundary-layer plasma flow flowing longitudinally over a flat ceramic plate made of lanthanum chromite. The plasma is formed from combustion products to which $\rm Na$ and $\rm Li$ salts are admixed as an alkali additive. The distributions of the temperature and concentration of the alkali atoms in this layer are determined.
