Effective absorption coefficient and diffusion coefficient of radiation in strongly scattering materials

Abstract:
The theoretical principles underlying a method of determining the effective absorption coefficient and diffusion coefficient of radiation in strongly scattering materials of semiconducting-ceramic type from experimental transmissivity values are outlined. The two-dimensional character of the radiation field and the influence of reflection from the sample boundaries is taken into account.
